VAKKAYA ROTI PACHHADI - FOR RICE

Hello friends how are you all,sorry I took so much time to post a recipe .I will try to not to repeat this one again .................. shall we go into the recipe.Today we are going to do roti pachhadi with vakkayalu as it is the season for them.

Ingredients - 
  • Vakkayalu - 1/2 cup
  • Fresh / frozen grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chillies - 4 / as per
Thalimpu 
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida a pinch 
  • Curry leaves - 1 string
  • Oil 1 tsp
Method of preparation -
  1. Wash , halve , deseed and roughly chop vakkaya.
  2. Remove stems, wash and chop gheen chillies ...
  3. Coarsely grind coconut, chopped vakkaya, green chillies and salt...then remove it into a bowl then....
  4. Heat oil in a pan, add all talimpu ingredients in order,
  5. when urad dal changes color, remove from heat and add to above grounded chutney.....
  6. Mix thoroughly and serve with steamed rice, idly, dosa etc.,
