NEERU DOSA {TIFFIN ITEM}

Neeru  dosa  It  is  very  unique  type  of  dosa  which  I ate  in  my  mom in laws co-sister's house when I went  to call for my  son's  puttinaventukala  function  {means  it is a function of  removing /shaving of  birth hair of small babies (ie) when  the baby is at the age of  5 month's old or 3 years old , that  too in our area's who do it in different ways according to their inlaws house}
I love that tiffin  and   after that I asked the recipe and learnt from  her , she told that it is a Karnataka  item as she got this from her sister who stays in raichur ............wow ! if we love  to  eat  new items we get more and more new recipes .some times I think that  I love to  cook more and more new recipes : )
So I ate more of you all brains sorry ! let's go to recipe ...................

Ingredients for coconut Jaggery mix- - this is also one more chutney which can be served {this chutney I saw in one blog and tried good}

    d Fresh grated coconut – 1 Cup
    d  Jaggery – ½ Cup
 Cardamom -1

METHORD OF PREPARATION
* Soak the rice for 3-4 hours. If you intend to prepare for    morning breakfast, you can soak it overnight.

* Wash the soaked rice and grind it finely with grated coconut and salt by adding sufficient water and then transfer to a bowl.

*In a mixing bowl, take the prepared  flour  and  add ½ glass water , pinch of  cooking soda and mix well, the flour  should  be  thin  as shown in the picture  below ………

*Add enough water to make it somewhat thin batter

*Heat a flat pan on a high heat ,apply oil to the pan with back of the spoon (or) with onion slice
*When the pan gets hot ,pour a ladle full of dosa batter in a circular motions

*Make sure that the batter is thin enough when the batter hits the hot pan dosa makes small holes ,
*If there are big holes try to fill them

*Don't spread the batter with the back of the ladle [ it won’t come and it will stick to the ladle]
*Pour 1 tsp of oil around dosa for frying
*Fry on low and medium flame till you can turn dosa from the bottom.
*Carefully turn to another side by reducing the heat to medium, when other side also gets fried serve the neeru dosa /coconut dosa plain with chutney {the dosa will not be crispy it will be soft}.

*Repeat the same procedure with the left batter also

Suggestion - If the dosa batter is thick the dosa will not be tasty, so if the batter is thick add water and make it thin
If it is too thin dosa won't come out from the pan so add some wheat flour and rice flour.
