VEGETABLE BURGER

Burgers  are  the most  favorate item  for all age people it can be prepared very easily  at home only with all vegetables which children won't eat  easily so now we prepare it  at  our kitchen with in minutes

Ingredients -
  • burger bus - 4
  • keera cucumber - 1
  • tomato - 1
  • onion - 1
  • capcium - 1
  • lettuce                                                                                                                                                 
  • cheese slices - 1 for burger
  • mayonnaise / butter - 2 tsp
For preparing patties/cutlets   
  • sweet corn - 1 cup
  • carrot - 2 medium
  • potato - 3 medium  
  • corn flour - 3 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • onion - 1
  • corn flour - 2 tsp
  • garlic - 4 [optional]
  • ginger garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
  • cilantro springs
  • red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • green chillies - 2
  • peas - 19
  • butter - 3 - 5 tsp
Method of preparation -
  • For preparing patties =
Remove stems and finely chop green chillies
Wash and finely chop the onion
Wash and finely chop cilantro springs
Pressure cook potatoes and mash 
Steam all vegetables like carrot,peas,sweet corn and mash , or boil them in little water till they are done
Peel and mince garlic
Make a fine paste of garlic and ginger paste

In a mixing bowl  , add cooked and lightly mashed potato,all cooked and lightly mashed vegetables,cilantro springs,chopped garlic [optional],garlic ginger paste,corn flour,salt,chopped onion,red chilli powder

lightly mash  every thing together and divide into portions [of  burger bun size]
Form each portion into a ball ,and flatten them shaping each into 3/4 thick patties and keep aside
Reapet the same for for the remaining portion .

Heat a flat pan on medium high heat ,apply oil or butter as you wish  with the back of the spoon
When the pan gets hot, keep the prepared patties / cutlets on the pan and fry till the bottom side starts to turn into golden brown ,turn to other side and fry till it turns into golden brown and remove from heat .

Repeat the same for all cutlets /patties

  •   Assembling burgers with grill and with out grill =
Remove stems ,wash and keep aside lettuce leaves
Cut sides and scrub the sides with the end of cucumber for few seconds[to lose it's bitter taste] ,wash and peel  keera into slices [rounds]
Cut bell pepper/capcicum green into half length wise;discard seeds and membranes into slices and fry them on a flat pan with little butter so that taste improves losing it's crispyness

Place buns,cut sides down,on a hot flat pan and fry them on each side until it is tosted little
Spread 2tsp mayonnise / butter on top half of each bun.
Place onion silce on bottom half of each bun.
Top of each onion silce with pattie and cheese slice and tomato silce and cucumber silce ,lettuce leaves ,bell pepper silce and cover with top halves of the bus .
Repeat the same with other buns required .

Cheese slice is optional for health concious people .

In grill means -

pre haet to medium
Place pepper halves on grill rack coated with cooking spray ,grill 10  mints ,turning occasionally.
Place buns ,cut side down,on a grill rack coated with cooking spray grill for 30 sec on each side or until toasted , spread 2 tsp of mayonnaise on the top half of each side of the bun,and place one onion silce on the bottom half of each bun.top each onion slice with pattie and cheese slice and tomato slice and cucumber slice;lettuce leaves;bell pepper slice  and cover with top halves of the buns .
