ALOO TIKKIES [TYPE 2]


POTATO ALOO TIKKI is a popular and delicious recipe 

which my son loves so so much , they are roasted or deep fried 

but my son loves deep fry .This tikkies can be used in burger.

Ingredients –

Crust :

5 – 6 potatoes-boiled-peeled and mashed

½ tsp turmeric powder

Green chillies – 3 finely chopped

Garam masala- ¼ tsp

Bread crumsb -1/2 cup / fresh bread – 3 slices

Salt to taste


For filling :

Chana dal – 1 cup[cooked and drained]

Grated ginger – 1 tsp

Grated garlic – ½ tsp{optional}

Green chilles - 3  finely chopped

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Coriander fresh – chopped finely ½ cup

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying

For crust –

mix all ingredients together well

Keep aside.

For filling ;


Mash cooked dal coarsely with hands.

Mix in all other ingredients.

To proceed to prepare ;

Take a tsp of potato mixture , spread on palm.

Place a tsp full of dhal mixture on flatten potato in centre 

,and then 

close with the aloo ,as to keep the stuff which is inside should 

not come out 


of potato tikki  


Then gently press to tikki form ,shallow fry on a griddle or 

deep fry in oil


Serve hot the crispen crust aloo tikkies with tomato sause
