RIDGE GOURD HALWA

Ridge  gourd  is  a  vegetable  which  we  can  use  to make curries  , chutney  or  fries  but  today  we learn how  to  make  sweet  item  very  tasty  and  little  easy  only  .



Ingredients -

  1. Ridge gourd - 1 big 
  2. Almonds /Badam - 50 grms {soaked  over night}
  3. Sugar - 1 cup or accordingly
  4. Ghee - 2 - 3 tsp
  5. Milk - 2 cups 
  6. Vanilla  essence - 2 drops 
Method  of  preparation - 
  • Peel  the  ridge gourd , wash  and  taste  it  weather  it  is  bitter  if  it  is  not  grate  it .


  • Drain  and  remove  the  skins  of  the  almonds , puree  the  almonds  with  4 tsp  of  milk  to  a smooth paste  in  a blender .

  • Heat  the  ghee  in  bowl  or  kadhai  add  grated  ridge  gourd  and  fry  on  low  and medium  flame .

  • As  ridge  gourd  releases  water  fry  until  all  the  water  evaporates 

  • Then  add   grounded  almond  paste  and  mix  well  and  add  milk and cook  on medium  or low  heat  for  10  mint's 

  • Until    it  comes   closer  ...............

  • Finally  add  sugar  and  mix  well  for  more  5 mint's and  add  Vanilla  essence   and  mix well  and  remove  from  heat .and  transfer  to  a  serving  bowl .............

Note -  It is  not  necessary  to  use  essence   it  is  optional .
