CABBAGE PACHHADI

Cabbage pachhadi it is an old and traditional  item which  my mom's friend  thought me as she learnt from her inlaw  very easy and tasty in rice .

Ingredients - 

  • Cabbage - 2 cups [ Gratted ]
  • Red chillies - 5 
  • Tamarind - 1/2 inch
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggary - 1/3 tsp
  • Salt - as per
Talimpu - 
  • urad dal - 1/3 tsp
  • mustard seeds - 1/3 tsp
  • cumin seeds - 1/3 tsp
  • curry leaves - 9
  • hing - pinch
Method of preparation -
  • Chop cabbage and add chopped cabbage and red chillies and fry .
  • Fry them until they are soft and remove from heat and let it cool.
  • Wash and soak tamarind in little water and keep aside 
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan add urad dal , fenugreek seeds ,mustard seeds and cumin seeds and keep aside .
  • First grind  jaggary,salt,tamarind and  salt into fine paste ......
  • Then add all fried ingredients except cabbage 
  • And ground finely if want add little water 
  • Finally add fried cabbage and coarsely             [kachha pachha ] ground and remove to a bowl 
  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan , add all talimpu ingredients in order when mustard seeds start spluttering remove from heat and add cabbage chutney and mix well and serve with hot steamed rice or upma .
