CABBAGE CURRY FOR CHEPATHI OR RICE

Cabbage is very good for health and  rich with vitamins and there are so many types of curries and pickels prepared with cabbage this is very very and normal and traditional item made by all - means my grand parents and all this is perfect andhra style very old style check it ...............

Ingredients - 

  • Cabbage - 1 
  • Onion - 1
  • Coconut grated - 1 cup
  • Green chillies - 5 - 4
  • Cilantro few
  • Hing - a pinch
  • Salt to taste 
  • Oil - 1- 2 tsp 
Talimpu - 
  •  Mustard seeds - 1/3 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/3 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Chana dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 9 
Method of preparation - 
  • Remove the outer skins and shred the cabbage with  knife or chopper 
  • Remove stems ,wash and finely chop green chillies .
  • Peel and wash and chop onions .
  • coarsely ground green chillies,cilantro,salt 
  • Heat oil  in a pan , add  all talimpu ingredients and once starts splutter , add chopped onions and fry on medium flame until light golden 
  • Then add  chopped cabbage and turmeric and fry on medium and low flame for 5 -8  mint's or until the smell of the vegetable go and cover with a lid ........................ and pour some water on the lid and cook on a low flame 
  • In the middle remove lid  and saute the curry 
  • And when the cabbage becomes soft add grounded chilli paste and  mix well  for more 5 mint's and remove from heat 
  • Finally add grated coconut and  stir well  and serve with hot hot chepathi 
Note :- you can use soaked mong [1/2 hr] insted of chana dal which tastes different 1/2 cup
