RAGGI DOSA - TYPE 2

RAGI DOSA -



Ragi dosa  - This is one of the healthy and summer tiffin I think ,normally raagi  many people does't like but should eat this , and try to do raagi dosa  with my recipe you all will defenetly  like this .............. with this chutney , we have to prepare this chutney only .This will enhance the taste of this dosa .

Ingredients - 

Wheat flour - 2 glass
Raggi  flour / pindi - 2 glasses 
All purpose  flour / maida pindi - 1 glass 
salt  as per taste


Method of preparation - 

  • In a mixing bowl ,mix together all purpose flour,wheat flour,raagi flour,salt, and mix well with sufficient water before one hour for  break fast .


  • Add enough water to make it some what thin batter 
  • Heat a flat pan on a high heat ,apply oil to the pan with back of the spoon (or) with onion slice 
  • When the pan gets hot,pour a ladle full of dosa batter in a circular motions
  • Make sure that the batter is thin enough when the batter hits the hot pan dosa moves softly.
  • Pour 1 tsp of oil around dosa for frying 
  • Fry on low and medium flame till the bottom starts changing its colour into golden brown colour. 
  • carefully turn to another side by redusing the heat to medium ,when other side also get fried serve the raagi dosa  with coconut chutney  .
  • Repeat the same procedure with the left batter also 
suggestion - If the dosa batter is thick the dosa will not be 

crispy and tasty ,so if the batter is thick add water and make 

it thin .


Preparation of  Bombay Chutney - 



What you need for making Bombay Chutney :

  • Besan or Gram flour --------- 1/4 cup 
  • Onion slices --------- 3 big
  • Green chilli  --------------- 4
  • Urad dal ---------- 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds --------- 1/3 tsp
  • Cumin seeds ------- 1/3 tsp
  • Curry leaves ----------8
  • Oil -------------2 tsp
  • Tamarind paste --------------2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder ------------1/3 tsp
  • Salt ------ as per
  • Potato -----------1 medium size
  • Water --------------1 glass
  • Dried red chilli -----------1
How to prepare Bombay Chutney let's know ?
  • Chop and peel and wash the onions to thin slices
  • Peel and wash and chop potato into small cubes .
  • Heat oil in a khadai and when hot add urad dal , mustard and cumin seeds and when start splutter add curry leaves .
  • Add chopped aaloo and onions and saut'e for few mint's and add water and turmeic powder and mix well and close with a lid until soft .
  • In a mixi jar add green chillies , salt , into a paste .Add this paste into cooking onions 
  • Saute well ,
  • In a bowl add besan and add 1/2 glass water and mix well with out any lumps .. Add this mixture to the cooked onions and stir well without forming lumps.. Cook it on low flame for 5 mint's.


  • Stir it occasionaly so that it does't get thicken much ....Adjust water and salt if required and serve hot for this Ragi dosa which is the best combination for this dosa.
