Paneer is Indian cheese and I like paneer very much, as paneer is
fat content I prefer thofu which is very good for health. Now a days as my son
is having very long day schools after coming home he wants different type of snacks which are “home made” so I am
trying different verities in that this is one.
Paneer tikka is a quick and
easy snack or starter and just the look of grilled vegetables and paneer and
mixing of simple spices.
Ingredients –
For marinate =
ThickCurd/yogurt – 1 cups
Salt
Salt
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric – ¼ tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Cumin powder – ¼ tsp
Garlic ginger paste – ½ tsp
INGREDIENTS for tikka =
Thofu – 12 cubes [not fried but fresh one’s]
Bell pepper[capsicum green or any colour] – 1 choped to cubes
Tomato – fresh 2 chopped to cubes and remove the seeds {hybrid are
prefered}
Onion – big chop to cubes and remove layers
OTHER INGREDIENTS =
Oil – 2- 3 tsp
Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Skewers / tooth picks – 4 – accordingly
Method of preparation –
In a bowl, whisk the yogurt well and add salt, red chilli powder,
garam
masala, cumin powder, dhaniya powder, turmeric powder, garlic ginger
paste.

Add the cubed paneer, bellpepper, onions, tomatoes to the bowl with
marinade and toss/mix well to coat.
Cover with a lid and let it rest/ sit inside the refrigerator for a minimum
of 30 mint’s.{you can marinate in the morning and can use it whenever
kid’s will come home and serve them hot.
In skewer[if you are using them soak them in water for 10 mint’s]I
used tooth picks, insert a cunck of onin piece and bell peppr and thofu
and tomato and bell pepper and onion. Repeat the same with other
picks also.
Heat a kadai / non-stick tava and place /cook the stucked tooth
picks on the
pan on medium flame using 1 tsp of oil till the panner is light golden
color from all sides.
Serve immediately sprinkled pepper powder if needed.
TIP –
You can grill with oven also by pre heating the oven to 400 degree and
grill for 20 mint’s by brushing some oil to vegetables.
