KANDI PODI (thoor dal)

Ingredients :

½ glass thoor dal

1 tsp cumin seeds

2 tsp coriander seeds

Pepper grains – 1 tsp

10 red chillis [ or ] according  to taste


Method of  preparation –


Heat pan add thoor dal , cumin seeds , coriander seeds 

separately without oil on medium flame until golden color (the 

aroma)

Switch off the flame and let the ingredients cool.


Ground cooled thoor dal, cumin seeds, coriander seeds with 

salt 

and red chillies in a mixie coarsely and take it in a bowl.


First ground  powdered dals and mix well with hand for a 

second roughly.

You can take and preserve  for 2 to 3 months [ even more but 

the smell may go]

This will be good for ladies who have delivered a baby as they 

can eat with idly [as our elders will tell that we should not 

take 

chana dal etc.,]



This will be well with hot hot  idly dosa rice with a drop of 

ghee.

So friends enjoy with this ground nut powder.
