BISBELE BATH with out rice wow it is very good for health right and for all sugar compliant people and now a days health concious people they all can prepare this item as when
One of my friend told that she prepares with poha and not with rice so I like to prepare this when some of my gusts came .One other thing I have observerd about food in banglore is all their dishes are very very easy and fast to prepare .
Though I was big fan of bis bele bhath but it was made of rice and when I ate in hotel that was different and when my friend told I tried and it worked .
INGREDIENTS -
- Poha - 2 glasses
- Mong dal - 1 glass
- Water - 8 glasses
- Carrot - 2
- Green peas - 1 cup
- Tomato - 1
- Potato - 1
- Anapakaya ginjalu - 1/2 cup
- Bell pepper / capsicum - 1
- Onion - 1 big
- Tamarind - lemon size
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - 10 - 15
- Asafoetida a pinch
- Ghee - 2 tsp
- Oil - 3 - 5 tsp
- Bisi bele bath powder - 3 tsp
- Salt - as per
- Little Jaggery - a pinch {optional}
Peel and wash and chop carrot and potato ,
Peel and chop onion vertically .
Wash and soak tamarind in water , when soaked remove the pulp and keep aside .
Wash and chop tomato .
Wash and chop bell pepper into pieces .
Wash poha for two times and add 1glass of water and soak them until dal is cooked
pressure cook all chopped vegetables for 2 mint's so that they are half cooked .....except tomato and onion
Heat water approximately 7 glasses , when it starts boiling add moong dal and a pinch of turmeric ....
When the dal is 1/3 cooked add 1/2 cooked vegetables and cook till vegetables are done .
When all vegetables are cooked well add soaked poha , and cook for 5 mint's
And add bis bele bath powder , tamarind , salt , jaggery [ if necessary ] and mix well on low flame and let it cook {if necessary add more water and cook}
{the bisi bele bath should nod not be dry it should be semi soild so add water accordingly}
In the mean time take pan add oil and when hot add all talimpu ingredients and urad dal starts golden color add curry leaves and red chilli add asafoteida and onions and fry to light golden color and then add tomato and fry till soft .
Then finally add this talimpu to the low flame cooking bis bele bath and mix well and remove from heat when bubbles are comming and add ghee if you prefer and serve hot .
