CABBAGE PACHHADI / CHUTNEY FOR RICE


 This is the chutney which we use to prepare for rice  which my aunt has tought me when we visited her house this summer for lunch. I loved it and asked her the recipe and prepared it which was super with me also so you too try this one and enjoy  the taste.

Ingredients - 

Cabbage – ½ {finely chopped}
Green chillis – 10
Oil – 5 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Red chillis – 3
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Chana dal – 1 tsp
Garlic cloves – 3
Salt – as per
Curry leaves
Tamarind – 2 inch
Onion – 1 finely chopped

Method to prepare –

1 . Take pan and add 2 tsp of oil and heat it. Add chopped cabbage, green chillies in the pan and fry until it leaves it’s odd smell and fry until  to golden color.

2 . Now let the fried cabbage to cool to room temperature.



3. Grind jeera, garlic cloves, salt and tamarind into a paste. Add in fried and cooled cabbage, green chillies and grind coarsely.


4. Now heat the pan and add the remaining  oil and let it hot and now add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, and fry to golden color and add curry leaves and fry it and add grounded cabbage on low heat and mix well and fry it until it becomes thick .


5 . Now garnish finely chopped onion pieces and serve with hot rice and a drop of ghee.
